Juneteenth Roundtable Features Young Scholars from South Garner and Garner Magnet High Schools

Melany and Antoine Paden recently used the platform of their "Faith Activated" program to talk with local high school students Justyz Gibson, David Hunte, Julien King, Leah Knight and Olivia Trahan about Juneteenth. The virtual event was produced in conjunction with Garner's Juneteenth Committee.

Garner's Juneteenth Committee, made up of Garner residents (including Ms. Paden) and Town of Garner staff, is tasked with raising awareness about Juneteenth and its relevance to our community. Look for information soon about other planned activities by the committee. We'll share details at garnernc.gov and on the Town's social media accounts.

There are numerous other opportunities to learn about Juneteenth—one of which will occur virtually on Wednesday, June 16 at 7 p.m. when the North Carolina Museum of History will offer a special program on Juneteenth. Learn more and register (it's free, but pre-registration is required).
